ABOUT US

AirZafari Greenland ApS is a Greenlandic, family-owned aviation company founded in 2010.

The company was established by husband and wife, Bente Biilmann Larsen and Jens Ploug Larsen, both experienced pilots with many years in the aviation industry.

United by their fascination with Greenland’s vast and diverse landscape, they felt a strong desire to share these experiences with friends, family, locals and visitors alike – allowing others to witness the wonders of Kalaallit Nunaat/Greenland with their own eyes. This vision became the foundation of AirZafari.

On October 1st, 2020, their daughter, Mia Biilmann Larsen, born and raised in Nuuk, took over the company and the cockpit, becoming owner, CEO and pilot of AirZafari. With her experience as station manager and COO from previous seasons, she and her team continued to offer guests unique aerial perspectives of the magnificent scenery she calls home.

In August 2023, Mia was joined by her sister, Anna Biilmann Larsen, also a commercial pilot and CEO. Together, they now operate Greenland’s oldest privately owned airline, with a strong focus on community involvement, sustainable development and the future of aviation in Greenland.

OPERATION

In addition to sightseeing flights, AirZafari Greenland offers a wide range of charter and special air operations operated by our fixed-wing aircraft. These include transportation, reconnaissance flights, survey operations, cargo flights and fully customized aviation solutions.

Our main bases are located in Kangerlussuaq and Ilulissat, with flights available to and from Sisimiut, Nuuk and other destinations along the west coast of Greenland. We operate primarily from March to November and exclusively in visual meteorological conditions (VMC).

Whether you choose one of our pre-planned tours or a tailor-made flight, you decide where, when and for how long. We work closely with you to create the optimal flight experience within your wishes and budget.

We are flexible and experienced in coordinating flights by airplane for both solo travelers and larger groups. Should helicopter operations be required, these can be arranged upon request and are operated by trusted third-party providers.

In cooperation with Copenhagen AirTaxi, AirZafari Greenland operates a fleet of three Vulcanair Partenavia P68 fixed-wing aircraft. Each aircraft is configured with five seats, including one seat beside the pilot and four passenger seats in the rear cabin.

The P68 features high-mounted wings and large panoramic windows, making it exceptionally well suited for sightseeing flights. All passengers are guaranteed their own window seat, including access to bubble windows offering a nearly 180-degree view.

Each seat is equipped with an individual aviation headset, allowing clear communication with the pilot during the flight, as well as the option to enjoy music while taking in the scenery below.

Our aircraft typically cruise at speeds between 100 and 135 knots, allowing for smooth and efficient flights with the flexibility to operate tours lasting several hours, depending on route and conditions.
